Fleet card services just make more economical sense when compared to cash transactions.

How do you manage your fleet’s fuel purchases? Many businesses are still using a cash system but that could be costing your business in the long run. There are better options available, such as fleet card services, that provide your business with the type of flexibility it needs while also working towards achieving lower costs. Every fleet manager in the country is looking at his or her bottom line and wondering where they are going to make up the cost. Little do they realize that they can actually empower employees and achieve more without having to pay as much. In fact, this may be a better way to manage your business in total.

One of the reasons to use a fleet card instead of using cash is for simple accounting purposes. Your drivers come in with a receipt for their purchase. What happens to that receipt? Does it make its way to the accounting department or does it get lost in the shuffle? How often do your employees lose those receipts themselves? This positions the company for mistakes and frustrations. However, if you use a card for the purchases instead, it will keep track of all of this information for you. It is easy to see which car got filled up and what was spent. This makes accounting far easier.

While that is a good reason to switch, it is not the biggest of all. That comes in the form of saving money. Fleet managers today are looking for ways to cut those expenses down simply because there just is not enough money out there to pay for the rising cost of fuel. One way to better manage this is by getting fuel at a cheaper price. You can do that by using the fleet card services. These cards allow you to tap into a network of fuel providers. This network charges less to those who use this service. In other words, you get the same amount of gas, and the highest quality as well, but you pay less for it. It really is a win-win situation for the business owner.

Yet another benefit of using a card for purchases over using a traditional cash method is that you can track maintenance better. Some of these fleet programs can cut into the costs of maintenance, too, if you obtain the service from a network provider. That will save you money right away. However, another way that this will save you money is by using the card to track your maintenance updates and your tune ups. That way, your vehicles are running at their best fuel economy especially when things like tire pressure and air filters are maintained. In addition, this will lengthen the life of many vehicles within the fleet, reducing the costs for replacement.

What can cash do? It is a risk that many business owners are still taking because it seems like the simple choice. However, today, using a card is far easier. From a business point of view, the savings any cash user is missing out on means a loss of true profits that the business could be benefiting from in the long term. Although, there is little you can do to lower the cost of fuel, there are options for keeping your business running within budget. Fleet card services can actually be one of the best tools to help you to accomplish these goals. Consider how much simpler, faster and more efficient this simple switch can improve upon your business. You may be wondering why you waited this long to make that switch in the first place. Take into consideration all of those reasons for switching.

Recently, I decided it was time to clean up my Chevy Suburban, and get it sold. Realizing that this market isn’t necessarily the best for selling a large, gas guzzling vehicle, I made the choice to do it anyway. Why? Mostly because I actually had very little money in the vehicle, so anything I was able to get from a sale would be nearly all profit.

Of course the first thing I needed to do was get the truck cleaned up and start fixing all those “little things” that never get done when you are driving a vehicle full time. The truck had been sitting out at the side of the house for over a year, and when I went to start it, I remembered that I’d wisely removed the batter cables.

The reason for disconnecting those cables was to save the battery. Well either I waited too long or the battery was not very good quality when I purchased it. Fortunately for me, I bought it at a local auto parts house that stood behind their products.

All that was necessary was for me to bring in the battery. They tested it, and when it wouldn’t hold a charge, they actually sold me a new one at a deep discount. That was a very cool thing to have happened!

When people talk about why capitalism works and is useful, they always point out that competition drives the prices of things down. But is that necessarily a good thing in every case? Sometimes people lower the cost of goods by being more efficient, taking less of a profit for themselves, innovating new techniques for production, etc. But there are other ways, too. Like cutting corners. In a capitalist market, corners are going to be cut wherever it won’t be noticed by the majority.

Take cars, for example. There are better ways of making headlights and other car parts that don’t get used as much as they probably should, because almost everyone owns a car and not many people know much about it. I don’t think I’m being too much of a snob-I own a Camry for Pete’s sake. But I find it worthwhile to get certain Toyota parts and Toyota accessories online. I don’t want to spend as much as a house is worth on some Italian car that can break the speed of sound. But good, solid cars cut corners because it makes economic sense to aim for the vast market of car buyers who won’t know the difference. Luckily with the Internet it’s possible to find genuine Toyota parts for any make and model at a reasonable price.

As we all know, gas prices go up and down in response to market pressures and political instability in the Middle East. Right now, gas prices aren’t too bad in the U.S. At the beginning of April 2009, gas is around $2.00 a gallon in most places. But don’t count on gas prices staying that low for long. Summer is fast approaching, and that’s when many people take their vacations, which has the effect of driving gas prices up every summer. Besides, petroleum is a finite resource so the general trend will be for gas prices to keep going up for the rest of this decade and beyond.

That’s bad news for drivers who own trucks, SUVs and other vehicles that don’t get very good gas mileage. But, you don’t have to sit still for being gouged by the oil companies. You can fight back by making your truck more streamlined and more efficient. One of the best ways truck drivers can increase their gas mileage is by adding tono covers to their truck beds. Covering truck beds with tonneau covers radically improves your truck’s aerodynamic profile, which translates into less wind resistance and better gas mileage. In short, if you install a tonneau cover on your truck, it will pay for itself in gas savings in short order. Besides, truck bed covers look really cool, and help to safeguard your tools and anything else you leave in the bed. As long as you’re adding a tonneau cover, you might as well throw in a bed liner for adding protection to your truck bed.

If you have ever had to make a purchase involving auto parts then you most likely came across the phrase OEM at some point during your search. Perhaps you just glanced over this label and continued shopping. You shouldn’t have. A smart shopper knows that it’s a good idea to consider purchasing OEM parts.

So what are OEM parts exactly? The term is an acronym that stands for original equipment manufacturer parts which means that the part that you are purchasing was actually made by the manufacturer of the vehicle. For example, if you look at Toyota OEM parts then you are looking at Toyota truck parts or car parts that are actually manufactured by Toyota.

In contrast, a part that isn’t an OEM car part is a part that was made in a factory somewhere and designed for use in your vehicle. These are typically adequate car parts but they generally aren’t quite as good as those parts that are made by the manufacturer of the vehicle. Only the manufacturer is really capable of making the parts in exactly the way that they are intended to be made; every other maker is going to be slightly substandard to the original.

I’ve owned many different cars in the past and the toughest quality parts to find bar none were Mitsubishi parts. My older Eclipse would constantly need repairs, and since I’m a little cheap and a bit of a grease monkey, I always ordered parts and did the labor myself. The vast majority of those parts broke shortly after due to no fault of my own. The only ones that didn’t were the OEM ones, but then again, those were even harder to come by.

The second most difficult manufacturer to find was for Suzuki parts. Same as with the Mitsubishi, the majority of the parts that you can find are either garbage, or always out of stock. The ones that you really want are all OEM and, well, good luck! The Japanese manufacturers need to start taking parts lessons from their American counterparts. By far the easiest parts to find on the market today are OEM Ford parts. There is a good reason I now drive a F150. Fixing it is so much easier!

So you just bought a new truck. Well you are certainly going to want to keep it looking as new as possible for as long as possible then, right? Well there is good news here because there are a few simple truck parts and accessories that you can add that will help you to protect various parts of your truck from the daily wear and tear that it may be exposed to.

Let’s take a look at the bed of your new pickup for example. You know that as soon as you start tossing stuff into the back of it that you are going to scratch the paint. After all, you bought a pickup truck which means that the basic premise is that you will be hauling stuff around. You know that if you scratch the paint, the next thing that will find its way into the bed is rust. And of course, rust is bad!

So take a step to prevent this. Get a drop in bed liner. They are not that hard to install, and they are made to fit whatever specific new truck you bought. Or if you don’t want to be drilling holes and doing that big an install, just go for the easiest option of all: get a nice high quality bed mat! Or if you have the extra cash, have a fancy tonneau cover installed. At any rate, covering up the bed will keep your truck in good condition.

As you will quickly find out there are many great locations to buy the parts you need. Some parts are highly affordable and others are not. You may be wondering what the actual difference is. In some situations, you may be getting OEM Ford parts or Original parts while in other situations you are likely getting aftermarket parts. No matter what you choose to use, it is important to know what you are buying before you actually invest in them.

Another option that you have is to look for it by the type of car that you have. For most used cars Forth Worth junk yards may work to provide you with the parts you need. Unfortunately, most people want to purchase something new that is affordable. When it comes to searching for these parts, it is best done when you invest in a little homework. For example, where can you find these parts online? It is best to choose parts by their serial number, but knowing the make and model number of the car will help you to get what you need.

I’m guessing that most people just run down to their local Auto Zone or a similar car parts store if they are searching for truck accessories. But is that really the best place to buy these things? After all, they do kind of have a Wal-Mart mentality. Basically all you are going to get is poor service from somebody that hates their job. You might find competitive prices though.

Another route would be a specialty store. You know, the ones where they sell bumpers, hitches and almost always have bays in back with people who install them right there on site. Watch out: that salesman is on commission! And he’s going to pressure you into buying something more expensive than what you came in for. And after all of that up selling and making you feel like you just saved a bunch of money, you get charged too much.

Maybe there is a better answer. There are so many online sources for these accessories that all have very competitive prices. You don’t have to deal with that annoying salesman either. And if the seller is in a different state than you, you might not have to pay taxes. That more than pays for shipping even on big items like truck tool boxes and ladder racks.

Because of its popularity, there are many choices for making aftermarket performance adjustments and additions. One such modification is adding custom 350Z wheels.

The options for adding custom rims to your 350Z are numerous. Well-known manufacturers such as Axis, EXE, MRR, Petrol and Tenzo all make a variety of 350Z wheels for your Nissan in a wide array of styles and colors, including the very distinctive rose gold. Consider your vehicle’s paint job and details before deciding on the best color for you – whether it is gunmetal, black, or chrome.

A brand of TSW Wheels, Petrol is often the preferred choice. Designed specifically for the Nissan 350Z, Petrol wheels are available as either single, two- or three-piece sets and can be ordered with a stainless steel, polished, or chrome lip which gives your sports car a racier look. Petrol’s brand new Fusion model is a great choice for the ultimate in performance styling.

Of course you may also want to consider staggered wheels for your 350Z. Wider tires and rims in the rear equal better traction when accelerating and increased handling capabilities – perfect for this extremely sports car.
